The Eye of the Cyclone

Summarization of the lecture provided by Kriyaban Shri. Ajoy Kumar.

"The left brain and the right brain create a cyclone of thoughts inside us. Our safety and well-being lies in maneuvering ourselves to the centre of this cyclone - the eye of the cyclone and anchoring there. The stillness in the centre helps us to take the right and wise decisions!" Thus spoke Sadguru Yogiraj Sri Sri Mangeshda, using the age old maritime knowledge, at the lecture titled 'The Eye of the Cyclone' at the Indo American Society, Mumbai on 27th June 2014.

To the elite gathering at this prestigious lecture series, He explained that at one level the numerous ideas are delivering such beautiful creation of the latest technologies taking us to a higher plane of science. But at the same time in some parts of the world, extremities of in-humanity and violence are rapidly destroying humanity itself. The turbulences and stress are increasing day by day and in such 'cyclonic' environment, how one can find 'the eye' of Hope, and save oneself as well as the complete 'ship' is an art. Only a peaceful person who has developed wisdom can go into this eye rather than remain trapped in the worldly Cyclone.

Sadguruji explained how we get thoughts. The four compartments from where thoughts are generated are Survival, Necessities, Responsibilities and Liking. The five senses are responsible for generating a single thought and we convert it to a number of thoughts and then the cyclone of thoughts is developed. This cyclone deprives us from giving quality time to ourself and hence the question - who is living our life?

Sadguruji went on to show the relationship between intuition, knowledge and memory. Combination of these three and the function of breathing through our left and right nostril has a deep effect on our left and right brain. In the case of cyclone of thoughts, creative thoughts are generated lesser in number and used less. We rely on memory to give us old ideas and hence remain prisoners of the past.

Sadguruji gave many anecdotal references from his life in the Himalayas living with Paramguruji Sri Sri Mahavtar Babaji. Mainly it centred around his take on our relationship with nature and specifically with plants and trees. He stressed on the aspect that we lose the values of the five elements of which our body is made. That's one of the reasons for being in the turbulence.

He emphasised on the importance of the second living being in our life and hence the importance of society.

Sadguruji spoke of relaxation as an important aspect in everybody's life. Relaxation is within us. He explained the concept of Brain Frequencies and how we can control them to reach the eye of the cyclone. This helps in controlling our actions and reactions which is the key to avoid the turbulences.

He demonstrated powerful meditation techniques to the audience and explained the science behind it. He explained the importance of meditation as it is the elixir for many new age diseases which have no remedies or cure as of date.

The one hour lecture concluded with a very interactive question and answer session which in itself was very interesting?. Sadguruji explained the meaning of fate, fighting anger, Kriya yoga, living a meaningful life and so on.

The lecture ended with the audience asking for more and demanding various full day workshops in future. The administration of Indo American Society gladly obliged the audience with an assurance that they will look into organising such workshops as soon as possible.

Kudos to the staff of Indo American Society who worked hard to make this event a resounding success. Special mention of the President and Chairman Mr. Sanjog Parab and Secretary General Ms. Kiran Kamath and their team for their generous hospitality towards Sadguruji and team during the event. A big thank you to all of you at Indo American Society!
